Your Assam & Meghalaya tour starts on your arrival at Guwahati, and you drive straight to Shillong, called ‘Scotland of the East” (100 kms 3 hrs). En-route visit “Umium Lake”, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. Afternoon visit to the St. Catholic Cathedral, wards lake, Golf Course. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast will drive to the Grand Canyons of Laitlum, a delighting place which will mesmerize you. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the lush green hills and a sprawling meadow, its steep winding stairways that bend their way deep downhill leading to a small village. Laitlum is not crowded like other tourist destinations. It is a beautiful and unique valley with a pleasant hilly weather. Spend your time with the nature and rejuvenate yourself. Then drive to Shillong Peak (If Permitted by Air Force) which is situated at the height of 6449 sq. ft. and 1965m above sea level and Shillong City gets recognition from the peak itself. A telescope is also installed at the top of the peak building where you can have the Bird’s Eye View from one corner to another corner of Shillong. The last destination of the day would be Elephant falls. Located in Upper Shillong, this waterfall is famous as well as extraordinarily beautiful. The three stepped waterfall is named after an elephant shaped rock found at the foot of the falls.
After breakfast a day excursion to Krang Suri waterfalls. Krang Suri falls is amongst one of the most scenic waterfalls of Meghalaya. The falls is blessed with shimmering blue waters and lush green picturesque surrounding. Later visit Indo- Bangladesh border and drive to Mawlynnong village for a night stay.
After breakfast a day excursion to Mawlynnong-cleanest village in Asia. Arrive Mawlynnong visit Single Decker living root-bridge inside the jungle, later visit and enjoy the locally made watch tower, made up of bamboos. This watch tower gives you 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Later drive to Cherrapunjee. O/n Hotel.
Morning after breakfast visit Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai waterfalls, Eco-Park , Koh Ramhah, Seven sisters water fall (one of the longest in India). Later transfer to your hotel/resort for overnight stay. Evening is free for your own.
Morning after breakfast a day excursion to Mawsynram en-route visit One of the most remarkable features of the Khasi Hills are the sacred forests, which have been preserved by traditional religious sanction, since the ancient days. One of the most famous sacred forests is the Mawphlang Sacred Forest, about 25 kilometres from Shillong. The sacred grove has an amazing life form of plants, flowering trees, orchids and butterflies. An ideal destination for nature lovers In Mawsynram, there is a cave called the Mawjymbuin Cave which is one of the well known caves in Meghalaya. This cave, due to years of weathering and due to dripping of mineralized solutions and deposition of calcium carbonate, it has thus given rise to some magnificent stalagmites. These stalagmites are not only important and of great interest for geological research but also because of their exquisiteness. The stalagmite of the Mawjymbuin Cave is shaped into a massive Shivalinga. The cave also has a dome shaped rock with a flat top called the Symper Rock. O/N at Shillong.
After breakfast drive back to Guwahati Check in hotel. Afternoon visit Sankardev Kalakhetra, Umananda temple, Balaji Temple, evening Brahmaputra river cruise (on direct Payment) Etc. Overnight stay hotel.
After breakfast visit “Maa Kamakhya” temple on the top of the Ninachal hills at a distance of 8 Kms from the city center, later drive to LGBI airport, Guwahati to catch your flight to your onward destination.
Accommodation will be provided based on the Starting Room Category of each hotel, arranged on a twin sharing basis.
Breakfast will be provided daily according to the package outlined at the hotel.
Airport transfers and sightseeing will be conducted according to the itinerary using an air-conditioned Swift Dzire for 2 guests, and a Maruti Ertiga or Toyota Innova for 4-6 guests, or a similar vehicle, all equipped with an All India Tourist Permit.
